COMPATIBILITY FIRST
Sandustry Mods
Choose between Steam Workshop and Fluxloader, then check versions before changing a working save.
Sandustry has a Steam Workshop for mods and maps, while Fluxloader is a separate community loader. Back up saves, choose one installation route at a time, and verify the target game version and dependencies before launching.

Steam Workshop route
Subscribe to a compatible item and follow the latest developer instructions for the mod-enabled branch. Workshop requirements may change with updates.
Fluxloader route
Download the latest release from GitHub. The loader creates a log, a config file and a mods folder. If auto-detection fails, set gamePath in the config.
- Check the release date and supported game version.
- Read required dependencies.
- Install one mod first.
- Use the generated log when troubleshooting.
Use a reversible installation workflow
Copy the save before adding a loader or Workshop dependency and keep the clean copy outside the active save folder. Install one change at a time, launch to the menu, then open a disposable save before loading the main factory. If the game fails, the newest log and the last added dependency are more useful than reinstalling several mods at once. A reversible sequence also makes it possible to distinguish a loader problem from a single incompatible mod.
- Back up saves and note the current game build.
- Choose Workshop or Fluxloader for the first test.
- Install one mod and its declared dependencies.
- Archive the log before changing the setup again.
Troubleshoot after a game update
Disable recently outdated mods before opening an important save. Compare the loader release, mod release and game update dates, then read the project’s issue tracker for a matching error. If a clean game starts, restore mods in small groups until the failure returns. Avoid downloading replacement binaries from reposting sites; use the Workshop item, the linked project repository or the developer’s documented source so version and authorship can be checked.
